I just purchased a Zotac 1080 Ti blower from eBay, but it doesn’t start up properly—no matter what I try, it won’t post even though the fan spins. I upgraded from a 1080 and it still works fine with that model, so the issue must be with the newer 1080 Ti itself. I’ve followed all the advice given, but nothing changes. The onboard video functions with the 1080 Ti connected, and it navigates to the desktop as expected, yet it fails to recognize the GPU. Could this mean I was scammed, or am I just making a mistake? Also, I’ve tested all ports, but my PC runs an i7 11700K with 32GB RAM and an EVGA 850 G6 motherboard on an MSI Z590 A-Pro PSU.

I don't have a direct link to the ad. Could you confirm if it was indeed posted for parts?

It was marked as used, and the ad looked normal.

I don't think it would cause any problems, though the GPU is quite similar yet distinct from the previous model. Have you attempted resetting CMOS before installing the new GPU? Only the price difference stands out—around $100 CAD less than other 1080Ti blowers that have been available lately. The seller has very few reviews, with nine total and one as a buyer instead of a seller.

I removed the CMOS and now I notice this. Progress? The screen comes from integrated graphics too.

I used to have this with an older AMD RX480 chipset. Even though it's still a 1080, clearing the CMOS and updating the BIOS resolved the issue.

UHD graphics are included, but did you share this with the 1080ti installed? If yes, GPUz. No need to worry about using it for anything other than checking if it recognizes the 1080ti. MSI Afterburner would also be suitable. Both can detect GPUs that are present but not actively used. Look for the drop boxes I highlighted below. GPUz will provide more details about the GPU, though. It should be able to post with the GPU installed and showing power usage, but based on your last photo you seem to have it set up. https://www.techpowerup.com/gpuz/ https://www.msi.com/Landing/afterburner/graphics-cards

In the previous message, you mentioned the video came straight from the motherboard. I also installed the GPU-Z, but it doesn’t recognize the 1080p display. Afterburner isn’t working either.

Are all power connectors connected? If yes, I’d record a video with the GPU installed, check if the fan spins while it’s running, and note that GPUz isn’t recognizing it. Then inquire about returning it for a refund. Does GPUz display any other information besides the UHD 750?
