Hello, I recently installed a new PC and thought it would resolve a problem I'd been experiencing for months. Even on my older machine, I encountered "Ran out of Memory" errors every 30 to 60 minutes while streaming videos from platforms like Patreon, YouTube, and Twitch. I switched browsers such as OperaGX, but the issue persisted mainly on Patreon. There seems to be a setting in Chrome that assigns dedicated resources to specific tabs, yet it doesn't solve the problem. My current PC specs include 32GB DDR5 RAM, a 7950X CPU, and a 4070Ti GPU.
How many tabs are you using? If they need to stay open, consider switching to Firefox since Chrome consumes a lot of memory, while Firefox uses less RAM (as far as I know). Also keep in mind that Opera GX can put many tabs to sleep when needed, and because it’s a Chromium-based browser it doesn’t fully solve Chrome’s problems. Right now, if you’re looking to leave Chrome behind, Firefox is your best mainstream choice.
Your memory consumption seems excessive, possibly due to a significant Windows issue or malware consuming resources. You have sufficient RAM for 1000 tabs.
12gb usage with four Chrome windows, Spotify and Discord active. OBS is running but no streaming or recording happening. This issue appears when I don’t have other programs or tabs open either.
