Problem with GF's PC and 3070 not functioning

I assembled an affordable setup for her to enjoy Sims and Fortnight, then installed it on my old 3070. It functions well with my 4070 Ti Super, but the 3070 doesn’t support Ryzen 7 5700X. The system runs smoothly on a Gigabyte A520M K V2 Micro ATX with Corsair Vengeance LPX 16 GB.

I'm using it on my PC right now while I try to decide what to do. Yes, all the cables are connected and functioning properly.

I was about to mention that in my reply, but you came up with it first! Power surges in 30 series units can be stronger than expected, which might affect performance even if the ratings seem similar.
