Hey everyone! I own this setup: a Core i5 12600KF with 1700 Tray, an Arctic Cooling Freezer 34 AM4/Intel, bulk Gigabyte B660M AORUS PRO DDR4, Corsair DDR 4 32G (16x2) at 3200 CL16 Vengeance LPX Black CMK32GX4M2E3200C16, ANTEC case DF600, CoolerMaster MWE GOLD 750, V2 Full Modular, Gigabyte GeForce RTX 3060 Ti GV-N306TAORUS E-8GD 2.0, and a Samsung 1.0TB NVMe SSD 980. All drivers are up to date and I ran Windows 11 from a clean install.

The issue is that heavy games like Battlefield 2042 and Call of Duty MW2 keep crashing—games freeze and then close abruptly. The Event Viewer shows no events, and stress tests on CPU and GPU didn’t cause overheating or crashes. Even when I ran the games with other apps closed, it still fails.

Any suggestions on what might be causing this?

Check if you're pushing the CPU beyond its limits. Launch hwinfo to view temperatures and voltage spikes.

No overclocking applied; RAM was set to XMP profile. No spikes detected in HWINFO.

Did you want to reinstall the graphics driver? The computer was set up two days ago and a fresh Windows installation was done.

Run SFC /scan to fix system issues. Use DDU to remove corrupted graphics drivers, clearing old problematic files from your PC.

The SFC scan detected a few damaged files. I’ll attempt to run the ddu command and check the results.

Welcome to the discussion boards! Blq has a solid suggestion, SFC/DISM is a solid initial move, though since you just formatted it it might not resolve the issue. Try it out https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topi...6e85d4094e DDU fully removes the built-in graphics driver, which can lead to major or minor complications. After that, you can reinstall GeForce and possibly fix everything. I’m quite wary of this approach. There should be clear indicators when a program crashes—likely they occurred together, correct? If not, adjust accordingly.

I completely missed this! Make sure to update the chipset. If it keeps crashing, try checking the newest BIOS—otherwise, my experience suggests that’s the next step.

I combined them recently and the GPU is working well, but the CPU hits high 90s and drops to about 4.02 GHz during Cinebench and FurMark. You're wondering if it's overheating in games—should you choose an AIO or a Noctua? It's interesting that the issues started only recently, even though I've had the machine for six months.
