Problem with frame rate.
Problem with frame rate.
Hello, my name is Dominik. I'm 14 years old and I need some help. My English isn't perfect—it's my third language, okay? I think I might be getting lower FPS than expected. Here’s what my setup looks like: Windows 10 Pro, 12GB RAM, DDR3 RAM, RX-560 GPU, FX-6100 CPU with 6 cores (task manager shows 3). Motherboard is MS-7640 990XA-GD55. I previously had a GTX 1050 and an older 4-core CPU with 6GB RAM. Now I have a 4GB RAM but still see big differences in FPS across games.
For example:
- Minecraft: Old - 500 FPS | New - 40 FPS
- CS:GO: Old - 200 FPS | New - 140 FPS
- Rainbow Six Siege: Old - 140 FPS | New - 50 FPS (with low graphics)
- Roblox: Always steady 60 FPS, but stutters at high settings
I noticed my motherboard is at 75 degrees, but CPU and GPU are at 40 degrees. It’s confusing. What could be causing the drop in frames? I was watching some YouTubers with the same setup or similar hardware and they were performing much better. Is there something I’m missing about my configuration?
Thanks for your help!

Hi there, I think you're spending time with your family this weekend too. Welcome to the forum—it's a big family here! 1) Switching from GTX 1050 to RX-560 is only a slight improvement at most, especially for games like Minecraft that rely on OpenGL; Radeon's OpenGL performance isn't great. 2) Consider using Vulkan in R6S or Roblox if they support it. 3) Could you play a game for about five minutes while GPU-Z is active and share the screen from the sensor tab? 4) What was your old CPU model? If you used an Intel Core series, that would also lower your overall performance.
Hello xAcid9, your reply is appreciated. I'll share my thoughts below: 1) Glad you found the info helpful! 2) I'll give it a try! 3) Absolutely! Just a reminder: I was playing Wolfenstein: New Order, with my old rig I'm seeing around 60 FPS now, dropping to mid-40s depending on settings. I have an Intel Xeon X5450 with AM3+ socket, but I'm unsure what CPU to pick since it's tough to afford at 14.
