Problem with Epson printer?
Hello all!
I’m dealing with a problem with my Epson WorkForce Pro WF-C878R printer. After finishing a print job and pressing the <<Last Original>> button, only half of the scanned document arrives in my email (using scan-to-mail). Only I notice this issue, while others receive their documents fine. As an IT professional, what’s the most likely cause? Could it be a paper size or format mismatch, outdated software/hardware, incorrect SMTP settings, or a glitch with my email client or temporary email service? My system runs Windows 11.
Thank you in advance for your help.
like half the pages or half page of blank and half page of document
don't think it would function just with your colleagues. maybe send it to another email address?
Yes, thank you for the great idea, but I wasn't explaining it properly. It occurs occasionally and isn't limited to me or my coworkers. I'll follow up with more information at a later time regarding this printer. Thank you again for your assistance!
How is the printer linked?
Connected directly to the network (with a fixed IP address) or shared through a host machine.
What additional tests have been conducted?
For example: sending emails with scanned files, scanning documents and then printing them directly to check if the complete scan succeeds.
Are there any records in the printer logs or other system logs?
Does the operation function after a reset or when some devices are turned off?
As I see it, the issue is sporadic.
What is the full workflow beginning with the document, through scanning, saving, emailing, etc.?
Identify patterns: everything works normally until person A scans a file, or when a document exceeds a certain size and is sent via email. This only occurs after other regular tasks.
The goal is to find a difference between the moments when scanning and emailing succeed and when they fail.
You should test carefully and methodically, focusing on one change at a time.
My assumption is that control codes might be causing problems somewhere in the described steps.
