Hi, I’m trying to clarify my situation regarding the dual-boot setup. I used an SSD and initially installed Windows 10 there. Later, I decided to dual boot by creating space and starting the installation. During setup, I selected the Windows drive for installing the Ubuntu bootloader, but kept encountering issues where Grub wasn’t displaying properly. I changed the installation path to use the full drive for Ubuntu. After that, I managed to install Ubuntu successfully. When trying to switch back to Windows, I noticed an option for Windows 10 in the Grub bootloader, but clicking it resulted in a black screen. I suspect that on my first attempt, I accidentally deleted the Windows bootloader, which prevented Windows from loading. I’m unsure what to do next and need guidance.

The suggested solution appears to be your top choice (consider ignoring the reference to W8, as similar functionality exists in other versions). You can reinstall the Windows boot manager by starting from a Windows bootable media. Press F8 during system boot to access the Windows Recovery Options. Unlike other versions, Windows 8’s recovery menu uses the Metro interface. Select Troubleshoot, then Advanced options to open the Automatic Repair menu. Startup Repair will restore the Windows bootloader while disabling Linux booting. To include Linux in the boot process, follow these steps.

Apologies for the delay. I was trying to follow your instructions but ran into several issues. I created a bootable Windows from a pendrive and started it, but it didn’t boot at all—it just displayed a black screen with a blinking cursor. I experimented with three different Windows versions, yet the problem persisted. I reached the troubleshooter section but couldn’t get further help. What should I do now?

Are you using a laptop or a desktop? Troubleshooting bootloader issues tends to be more challenging on laptops.

The bootloader successfully identifies the bootable drive. Once inside, the system proceeds to the next stage of setup and configuration.

It's a laptop. When I power on using a bootable Windows USB, I see only a blank screen with a flickering cursor. I've tested multiple Windows versions and it consistently shows the same issue!
