Problem with DRAM on ASUS motherboard (PC fails to boot BIOS)
I recently purchased a Ryzen 5600X CPU for a Christmas gift. I overlooked checking compatibility. After four days, I upgraded the motherboard and RAM. When trying to boot, the motherboard displays a yellow/orange LED linked to DRAM, but it won’t reach BIOS. I’ve placed RAM in all slots and even removed the battery for five minutes, but it still doesn’t work. I’ve also re-seated the CPU. Since I bought a new motherboard, I don’t have another to test the CPU or RAM. My old RAM worked before, but now it doesn’t. I assumed it was outdated, so I upgraded, but now I think there’s another problem. I haven’t updated the BIOS because I can’t access it. Help me figure this out.
You can always ask a friend to lend you a compatible CPU, update the bios, and then put yours. (if you have a friend with a compatible CPU)
Sure, assuming that's the problem, I'll need to replace the motherboard again... ffs
well that is my issue with ryzen, the BIOS and motherboard part can be very confusing and if it works at all or needing another CPU to upgrade BIOS and so on. they might be right, but they can also be wrong, you could gamble on this. But yes with those boards you should likely find it to work easier or get it to work. some boards are like maybe 200 or so? depends, so long you are not looking for the more expensive 570 boards.
It would make sense if someone nearby had one, but sadly there isn't.
