On Ubuntu 20.04 with Phenom x4, 4GB RAM, and onboard graphics, the issue seems linked to the GPU. Try updating your graphics drivers or checking for conflicts.

I solved the issue—it uses extra VRAM, changes the image, and causes the crash. I’ll install an older GPU I own that’s more capable. (It’s a GeForce 8300; I plan to add an R5 240.)
