My organization recently acquired a Dell R410 server and faced a problem where my SATA drives weren't recognized by the BIOS. After entering the BIOS setup, setting the SATA mode to AHCI, and disabling RAID, I noticed the hard drives would blink, showing power and activity. I confirmed all cables were securely connected and tested connecting the drives to various SATA ports on the motherboard. Despite these steps, the BIOS still failed to detect the SATA drives. The physical drives appeared as unknown in the BIOS when AHCI was selected, and a message stated "AHCI BIOS not installed," confirming they weren't being recognized. I repeated checks of connections and settings to verify everything was correct.

Is it new or used?
If it's new, reach out to Dell for help.
If it's used, there might be a faulty SATA controller on the MoBo. This means replacing the MoBo. However, it could also be that the drives are dead.
