My friend owns a Dell Inspiron 15 model P55F P55F002. He damaged his screen and wants a replacement from China. He asked if I’d change it for him, but he ordered a 1920x1080 display while his laptop actually uses a 3840x2160 screen. The pin size on the new screen is 30 pins, whereas the plug matches a 40-pin connection from his old device. My concerns are whether this setup will work with a Converter Cable Adapter or if he should simply return the incorrect model. Considering shipping and restocking costs, he mentioned he’d be happy if the 1920x1080 version functioned properly. Thanks for any guidance—this is far beyond my expertise. Also, please note the screen he should have ordered versus the one he did.
