I purchased an ASUS ROG GL753VE with the following specs: I7 7700HQ GTX 1050ti, 8GB RAM, 128GB SSD, and 1TB HDD. When I begin playing CSGO, my frame rate drops to 90 FPS or less. CPU usage is now between 30-40%, GPU usage is around 20%. Previous performance was stable at 150-170 FPS with high utilization. I've tried lowering settings, reducing resolution, and adjusting FPS caps, but nothing improved. Any advice?

Confirming it uses the NVIDIA card rather than built-in graphics. Updated September 28, 2018 by firelighter487 (typo)

I’ll check your GPU usage and confirm VSync status. Let me look that up for you.

Vsync remains disabled, yet your GPU load stays low around 20% while gaming, and your CPU usage hovers between 30-40%.

This button also asks if you've checked the thermals. How long has your laptop been there, and have you cleaned it up?

I purchased this only last December, and I don’t believe dust will impact my laptop this soon. The CPU runs between 82-85°C, while the GPU stays around 60-70°C.

Check if the issue is specific to CS:GO rather than a general hardware problem. Did you experiment with unique graphics settings in the console?
