Hello, I acquired a used 3700x CPU from a shop that included a 2-year warranty (CEX). It will be installed in a Gigabyte X470 gaming motherboard with Wi-Fi as part of my Unraid configuration. Previously, an 1700x and 5900x CPU worked fine with the same RAM (two 16GB 3000 Corsair LX series), and I haven’t experienced any issues. The only change was the CPU itself. On default settings it boots into Windows without problems, but Prime95 and OCCT both report failing cores shortly. To cope, I increased the LLC to high and turned off PBO. I ran the RAM at stock settings using a configuration from another machine, tried various BIOS versions without success. With LLC high and PBO disabled, Prime95 lasted about 45 minutes, while with LLC high and PBO off it ran for two hours. Anyone have advice? I’ve read many stories about degraded or failing CPUs showing similar symptoms.
