I have an I5-9600k (watercooled) system. When I adjust frequency and voltage, save, and close the program, the overclock remains active until the next restart. Then it reverts to factory settings, even though the BIOS still displays the values I set. In Windows Power Options, all settings are at maximum performance. I was thinking about clearing the CMOS, but I want to know if that could help and if it's a good idea. I really need quick assistance because without overclock active, I experience stuttering in games, which is costing me many matches. I don’t want to keep opening BIOS every time I start my PC just to save and quit so the overclock stays enabled.

And I should definitely note my overclock. It's currently configured in the BIOS at 5 GHz with a voltage of 1.325.

Follow the save profile steps precisely. If saving continues to fail, consider replacing the BIOS battery—it's typically a 2032 size and located between the GPU slots.

It seems the feature works only when I enter BIOS during startup. Restarting normally doesn't activate it, but once in BIOS the setting appears.

The CMOS reset didn’t make a difference. I just installed the latest BIOS update and will test it now. If someone has any ideas, I’m open to hearing them.

I use various tools to monitor CPU speed, such as system monitoring applications and built-in operating system utilities.

I rely on HWMonitor. The BIOS update seems to have made a difference.
