Problem with CPU issue
Hello, I recently replaced my motherboard because the old one had bent pins and the CPU showed some damage. The edges look bent or misplaced. I’m wondering if I should test the CPU first before replacing it, just to see if it still works. Since the CPU is an i7 8700 and the board is a H310M Pro M2 Plus, I don’t want to waste $300 on something that might not work.
No, I can't post a picture. Let me know if you need help with anything else.
hmm the bent doesn't seem too serious, picture perspective that is, I would say you can freely put it in the cpu socket, I don't think you'll have a problem but I wanna see what others think after me...
What were you doing with that CPU? It seems like applying pressure could damage the pins, possibly bending them. You shouldn't attempt this unless you're planning to physically alter the CPU.
It seems similar from a visual angle—it doesn’t appear very risky at first, though I’m not entirely sure. After reconsidering, I’m confident it won’t touch the CPU.
