Hello everyone, I'm facing an issue with my network on my Asus ROG Strix Z390-F motherboard. When using a 1-5 meter cable, the internet connection drops, but it works fine with a 10-meter cable. The router is in my landlord's house and runs through the wall, with about 25 meters of cable stretched inside. Could anyone help me figure this out?

Have you experimented with various cables spanning 1 to 5 meters, or did you use one cable exclusively? Were the connections made by yourself or by another person (purchased separately)?

I've tested 1, 2, 3 and 5 meters... Still no options between 5 and 10.

The cables originated from a specific source. You either crafted the 1 to 5 meter ones yourself or purchased them from a supplier. The issue is that shorter cables fail while the longer 10-meter version functions properly.

The 1m was created successfully with my previous configuration. All the remaining wires are purchased off the shelf. It’s odd I’m not grasping the edit—I’ve tested every cable on my machine too, and everything functions properly.

It seems quite unusual =/ I'd expect a driver problem but I think you've refreshed the newest versions. Make sure EEE (Energy Efficient Ethernet) is activated.

You can locate the EEE setting in your system preferences. Since you've updated the drivers and attempted reinstallation multiple times, double-check that the correct installation path is used and ensure no conflicting updates are interfering.

Open Network and Sharing Center, then select Change Adapter Settings. Click on the Ethernet adapter, go to Properties, choose Configure, and look for Advanced options if available.

I immediately understand this point. It’s not the EEE configuration that matters.

I checked my driver update from Intel's site. Restarted my PC multiple times—still no luck. It seems the 10M cable is still in use instead of the 1M option.
