It looks like your device is from a 2018 model and hasn't received an update. There appears to be a problem with the update process, making it impossible to downgrade or restore the original firmware.
It seems you're exploring a complex issue. Do you have another networked device available for testing?
I see, you're looking for a way to maximize your service usage. If you're paying for it, using it fully is important. You thought about upgrading to a more expensive router and even considered a different Ethernet device like your laptop, which has been working well with stable speeds. The router's WAN port seems limited to 100 Mbps, which might be affecting the overall performance. What are your thoughts on that limitation?
Sure thing. So basically, this device only handles FastEthernet, which is kinda outdated. You should probably upgrade to something newer. Also, both routers you have are stuck with the same outdated protocol—definitely not ideal. Budget and where you need it are important, but the tech isn’t keeping up.
Hello, thank you for reaching out. I apologize for the delayed reply. I recently started a new job and have been quite busy, but here’s an update. It seems the electrical current in my home occasionally drops for about 3 to 4 hours, causing flickering lights and unstable speeds during speed tests. When the power returns, it’s not consistent. If I run a speed test on either router, the connection quality varies. During stable electricity, I experience full performance for days. Would you think a UPS could prevent these issues even if the home’s power isn’t steady?
Oh no... That sounds pretty bad. Can you tell me where you're from? I've got my networking setup connected to a CyberPower 1500VA UPS, and as long as the internet stays up, my network should stay running for about six to eight hours. But once the power goes out for over an hour, the local fiber node's battery usually lasts only an hour.
Well, I live in Venezuela, and the electricity problem is unfortunately a common thing here. There are some mini UPS, which only support devices that requires 5, 9 or 12 volts, these could be a good option for the ONT and the Rout er? Here is one of them https://www.amazon.com/-/es/sistema-alim...B07W8MCBMS
It could work, but a broader option might suit you better. Check out this link for a comparable model: https://www.amazon.com/CyberPower-CP550S...B002QAUN2M
