I’m experiencing network problems while playing Fortnite. My ping is usually around 30-60 ms, which is acceptable for the game, but sometimes it feels laggy even though my ping stays in that range. There are times when the game runs very smoothly with almost no delay, while other moments it feels sluggish. I also notice occasional packet loss, though it’s rare when there’s no loss. My PC is only six months old and has an Intel i7 8700 with a GTX 1660 Ti. It uses a Cat8 Ethernet cable, which is supposed to be fast, but my download speed is about 20 Mbps and upload is 2 Mbps. I’m aware my internet isn’t particularly fast, yet if this were the main issue, my ping would likely be higher than 30-60 ms. I’m trying to figure out why it feels delayed more than expected and would appreciate any advice on resolving this.

Tell me about your internet connection. What ISP do you use? Is there a possibility to change providers or increase your speed?

We rely on an ISP named Zito Media. Unfortunately, I’m unable to switch to a better provider for some reasons. Would it be wise to reach out to them? They can address the problem and possibly reduce packet loss.

I suggest upgrading to a Mikrotik router. They are affordable, though slightly more challenging to set up, yet you gain full insight into your network operations, enhancing flexibility. Our ISP already has a script on the Mikrotik that can post updates to Telegram whenever someone connects to our router, including their public IP address, connection time, and protocol used.

Would this fix the delay I have been feeling? Because It feels very delay even when ping measures and shows to be 30-50
