I own a Dell OptiPlex with some upgrades, but it’s having internet problems. When I connect the LAN cable to the router, everything works fine, but inserting it into the wall port on my PC causes the lights in that port not to turn on at all. The router itself is an XYXL model.

It appears the cable connection for the wall socket isn't working properly. You need to find where the other side of the socket is linked to.

You're checking if the Ethernet cable from your router to the Optiplex is working. It seems like the problem might be with the connection path. Have you tried other ports in your home? If yes, test with a different wall port. Also, identify which port on your router or switch the wall port connects to, and consider changing it to another open port on your router.
