In my writing, handling security means controlling the system. I’m not affiliated with your organization or the IT team. You probably have better insight into who’s in charge, besides me. I also appreciate your character design!

It’s frustrating when big organizations have departments and projects left hanging. People rely on systems without anyone keeping them running, and assigning blame often fails because nobody wants to handle something poorly documented. The last person who tried to fix it was let go, which only adds to the frustration.

Connect to settings, then system, go to display. If it doesn’t appear, use detect. If it’s there but appears small and grayed out, click it, scroll down and choose “extend desktop to this display” under multiple displays. The exact phrases might vary, but the steps should work.

I've already attempted it. It isn't included and doesn't do anything.

Explain your concerns clearly... Is the fast startup feature turned off in Windows? And regardless of the BIOS settings on your system, can you turn it off? Most IT professionals know how to disable fast startup, but I’ve noticed it sometimes blocks certain ports during boot. I remember needing to adjust this when setting up a Yubikey years back. Also, what happens if you restart the PC from sleep mode? If your TV uses different display settings (like game mode), try those first. Look for ways to put the TV into a compatible state where it can establish a handshake with the device. Check if your laptop has an iGPU control panel that might manage advanced features such as HDR, multi-monitor support, or power-saving modes. If you’re using a video switch, be aware that some devices or TVs have anti-piracy protections that could block the image and affect how it appears. The way these systems handle video—whether HDMI over Ethernet works well—can vary widely depending on the device and its implementation.
