I own a brand-new ASUS laptop with the model listed. It runs Windows 11 Home 25H2 Build 26200.7462. Regardless of the power settings, sleep options, or device manager configurations I apply, the device remains active and does not shut down on its own. Even when I set the screen to turn off after a short delay, it stays off for about two seconds before reactivating.

There are no wake timers configured, and nothing appears in the command line or Event Viewer when I check. The machine will either sleep or completely blank the screen if locked. It can be logged in, but it must remain secured.

I have turned off all device functions, unplugged peripherals, disabled network wake capabilities, removed nearly everything except essential components, and even reset the OS as much as possible. Despite these efforts, I’m still puzzled. I also disabled firmware protection to test if a different sleep mode would help. Still nothing.

What could be keeping this device active by sending an action every two seconds? Is this some form of retaliation from Microsoft after initial setup? Also, if I spend too much time adjusting power settings, the event logger, or Armoury Crate (before uninstallation), the PC shuts down. Normal usage seems to work without issues.

Type the command in the PowerShell terminal to run powercfg /requests. The output will be displayed here.

The system currently shows no active display settings. No additional devices are armed. The following components are present: a HID keyboard, an Intel Wi-Fi 7 BE201 320MHz chip, a USB4 root router, and a mouse that meets HID standards. As mentioned earlier, the commands I typically run don’t yield useful results.

Did you check for an update to the Nvidia driver? Also, how did you remove Copilot? You explained the process clearly. You also mentioned uninstalling Amoury Crate; how did that work? This issue behaves like malware and won't disappear just by using the Windows uninstall option. You should download and use the Armoury Crate uninstaller from the Asus website.

I checked the nvidia driver to see if that would fix the issue – nothing worked.
I removed Copilot using the Windows debloat tool and then cleaned up with both the Windows uninstaller and Revo Uninstaller.
I tried using both Windows Uninstall and the Armory Crate Uninstall Tool; the computer shut down completely when using the latter.
Armoury Crate didn’t remove itself easily, but it’s now gone.

Have you verified that there are no lingering processes from Amoury Crate in the services? Open Task Manager, navigate to the services section, and confirm that nothing tied to Armoury Crate or Aura remains active.

You might also try downloading DDU, rebooting in safe mode, and using it to remove graphics driver-related files (Nvidia, AMD, Intel). Check if it still fails to power down.

Additionally, inspect the startup tab in Task Manager to ensure no unnecessary programs are launching with Windows.

It’s possible an external monitor is causing the issue as well.

There is nothing left from Armoury Crate still active.
I attempted to restart into safe mode but the drive was protected by BitLocker, and I didn’t have the means to recover it then (though I might try now).
All startup applications have been disabled.
I don’t have an external monitor connected.

Bitlocker can be turned off. You can adjust it in the control panel. If you're playing games and don't need it, it's a good idea to disable it.

Yeah, I'd just prefer not to because this is a travel work laptop. ("Travel work" on a gaming laptop you say? Well I make video games for a living so I need to be able to demo...)
That said, the thing is brand new so I didn't even get as far as "disable bitlocker" @_@

If you go along with it, it's better to keep it.
