Initially, when I powered off my PC, the screen would go dark while the fans continued to operate. Over time, this issue disappeared. Recently, after adjusting my CPU settings in BIOS, the same problem has reappeared. My system details are: motherboard Gigabyte GA 78LMT, CPU AMD FX 6300 overclocked to 4.0 GHz, RAM HyperX Fury 8GB DDR3 at 1866MHz, GPU AMD R7 260x1GB overclocked via Radeon software, SSD 120GB, and HDD 500GB.

While increasing clock speeds required several BIOS reinitializations, it’s unclear why that would lead to the problem.

What concerns would you have about doing this? You're unsure which connector you're using, but you connected the CPU based on what you found online. Make sure to verify the pin count before proceeding, as it affects compatibility.
