Problem With Black Screen After Taking Out DisplayPort/HDMI Cable
Problem With Black Screen After Taking Out DisplayPort/HDMI Cable
New Ryzen 7840hs mini PC from AliExpress with 1tb Kingston NV2 SSD and 32gb Crucial 5600 DDR5 is available at a very low price. Portability was important to me. First boot caused issues but after several restarts it displayed properly. Moved it to another room using HDMI instead of DisplayPort, but it still didn't appear. After reseating RAM and updating graphics drivers, the problem persisted. Later moved it again and encountered a black screen for both ports, which no longer appears. I tried cleaning the RAM slots and even reset CMOS, but didn't update chipset drivers or BIOS. Any suggestions?
Welcome to the forums, newcomer! After updating my graphics drivers, I forgot to perform a clean install. There should be a clear CMOS option or the chance to remove the CMOS battery for your miniPC. Unplug from the power source and display, then let the battery sit for 30 minutes before reinserting it. If you need to reset CMOS and also change the RAM placement, it might indicate a grounding problem in your setup.
Thank you for your help; it really clarifies things. I'll check everything. I cleared the CMOS but still nothing.
It initially looked like the fix was working since I located a loose ground wire and soldered it properly. However, my curiosity led me to disconnect the cable again, resulting in the black screen. I tried all the steps I had before, but I'm still stuck.
