3.31 represents a Micron E-die while 5.22 is an Hynix component. Their compatibility appears to be poor.

I have another issue with the v3.31 kit; it won't work with XMP anymore since it's the only pair in the system. Without the v5.22 it should run at 2133Mhz. I've tested both sticks separately, but the motherboard's debug shows RAM is faulty when XMP is enabled on the v3.31. In contrast, the v5.22 functions properly with XMP even without the v3.31. It seems both sticks in the v3.31 lose the XMP profile or become partially faulty at the same time—this is confusing. Thanks for the responses. Edited October 3, 2021 by GazCBG

Place the kit in slots A2 and B2, then restart the BIOS.

No, I not tried that and will give it a try when I get a moment. Thanks for the replies Corsair has said: We do not recommend mixing separate memory kits as it can cause stability issues. Memory with the same speed, size (GB per stick), timings, and voltage would net your best chance of not having a stability issue. Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee mixing any two kits, even if they have the same part number, for guaranteed stability . So it seems, there very little chance to get both pairs working with XMP on, due to the different versions.

I've checked another RAM module; it functions properly after a BIOS reset. You can manually adjust the speeds in the BIOS settings instead of relying on XMP. However, differences in versions might affect compatibility.
