A couple days ago my mouse began auto-scrolling in the active window. If I scrolled down, it would return to the top. Occasionally, while using a controller, the mouse attempts to take control. This doesn't happen consistently—it's sporadic. I've tested various mice, ports, wired and wireless options, disabled auto-scrolling in the settings, updated the mouse driver, and refreshed Windows. At this point, I'm considering it might be related to the motherboard. I'm using Windows 10, an i9-10850k CPU, and a Micro-Star Z590-A Pro motherboard. The latest change was purchasing a new keyboard last week, which could have caused a conflict?

Hello there, new member! The latest update is that I purchased a fresh keyboard last week. What is the make and model of your keyboard? Have you tried it with another one?

Thank you!
This is my latest keyboard:
Razer - Huntsman Elite Full Size Wired Opto-Mechanical Linear Switch Gaming Keyboard with Chroma RGB Backlighting - Black
My previous keyboard was also from Razer but another model.
I tried unplugging it and the scrolling continued. I didn't switch to a different keyboard.

I've encountered the same problem, I'm using Windows 11, an Asus GTX1060, but the issue appeared after installing the latest cumulative update (KB5022913).
I went back to a previous restore and it resolved.
It seems like a coincidence, though I also changed from a wireless keyboard to a wired one over the past two weeks.
I also tested with another mouse, so it's not related to that either.
The issue appeared only in certain active windows with scroll bars, like the file explorer or drop-down lists.

I attempted to revert the updates but couldn't locate the exact numbered update, with no success. After that, I tried following Tom's guide for fixing Windows 10, and it seems to be working so far...hope it helps!
