Problem with ASUS Turbo GTX 1080 not recognized or malfunctioning.
I own an ASUS ROG G20CB and wanted to upgrade my GTX 980 to a GTX 1080. Windows isn’t recognizing it in Device Manager. I’ve reset the CMOS, updated the BIOS, used a different cable, reinserted the card, confirmed there’s only one slot, checked all power cables, but GPUz doesn’t see the card. I’m stuck and need guidance.
The question seems simple but unclear. Are you asking if the card includes PSU power cables and if your video cable connects to it? If yes, consider returning the card.
It seems like you're considering swapping something. What do you think?
I7-6700 features 16GB RAM, a 6+2 cable setup, and one PCIe port. Purchased from Respec.io on eBay, verified refurbished by the seller.
Back then, I bought an OEM HP RTX 2070 Super from a trusted refurbisher on eBay. It didn’t function properly once installed—it would freeze and crash under stress. When I reached out to the seller for a return, they dismissed my concerns, claiming their cards were flawless. Eventually, I forced a return. A few weeks later, I noticed multiple listings advertising 50+ RTX 2070 Super cards with reported issues like artifacts and crashes. The prices were drastically lower than what I paid ($380 vs $130 each). It seemed the seller had bought an entire batch without proper testing or verification. My return led them to retest and realize their mistake. In short, even reputable eBay refurbishers can make errors. No one’s perfect, and platforms like eBay offer protection for buyers when things go wrong. So, I decided to return it—thanks to the refund policy.
