Problem with Arc b580 starting games
I placed the Intel Arc B580 Nitro edition at a stable temperature of 45-50°C with seven fans handling airflow. Noticing problems when resizable bar is turned on, missing large game chunks and frame drops appear in some titles. Upgraded from a 4060Ti 8G and now achieving 240fps on Rainbow and GTA5 at 1440p, but only 90fps with the Arc GPU. Uncertain if driver issues or hardware limitations are causing this. Any suggestions?
From what I observe, the 4060TI performs significantly better—around half speed—so it’s not an improvement or a downgrade. Driver problems are probably the main issue.
It has trouble with most tasks, including Minecraft. The Arc B570 was just launched, but the 4060ti with just 8GB of RAM performs poorly—similar to loading the Arc GPU with extra VRAM, which it can't manage.
Did you completely remove all NVIDIA drivers for the 4060ti and replace them with new ones for the B580? If not, this should be the initial action to resolve the problem. Regarding frame rate, you're right that the B580 has more VRAM, but the 4060ti actually offers greater raw rastering capability, which can result in higher frames depending on game optimization. (Refer to this comparison https://technical.city/en/video/GeForce-...s-Arc-B580). Assuming your frames are adequate, I suggest updating your drivers. Also note that the B580 is primarily a 1080p card, so you might not achieve very high frames at 1440p.
