Hello everyone. I’m seeking guidance on properly configuring my system to resolve the annoying AMD black screen issue I’ve been experiencing. Here’s a summary of my setup:

- **System Specs:** ROG CROSSHAIR VIII EXTREME BIOS v.0402, PowerColor Red Devil 6900 XT BIOS v 020.001.000.060
- **GPU:** AMD Radeon Software v2021.1201.0115.2259, AMD 5950x at 3.9 MHz
- **RAM:** Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 128GB (4x32GB), DDR4 3200/PC4-25600
- **Monitor:** AOC CQ32G2S, 31.5" 2K WQHD, 165Hz, curved screen, dual monitors
- **Operating System:** Windows 11 64-bit, all updates applied
- **BIOS Settings:** Memory set to auto at 2133 MHz; DOCP enabled for gaming

The system runs smoothly without black screens under normal conditions. The problem emerges only when DOCP is activated in BIOS, coinciding with random black displays in Windows. Memory detection shows 3200 MHz and full 128GB RAM. No specific applications seem to trigger the issue, whether I’m gaming, using Zoom, Slack, etc.

I'm facing the same issue with my gskill ripjaws 3200mhz. It seems the problem might be with the motherboard. I've tried manually increasing the RAM speed, but it's usually the B450 boards that work better than the X570. Consider setting the CPU back to auto instead of overclocking.

You might be pushing the CPU memory controller too hard. Running 4x32GB at 3200 C16 isn't straightforward and will need manual adjustments. Suggest setting the XMP profile, then reducing the frequency to 2400 and gradually increasing it until it stops POSTing. After that, choose the highest achievable frequency, boost the RAM voltage by 0.25, and repeat. Avoid letting the RAM voltage stay above 1.45V, and keep the CPU IMC's voltage (VSOC) over 1.15V.

Well this has nothing to do with your video card. Your problem is first of all that you are trying to run 4 sticks at their advertised speed, and you didn't specify whether or not they all came from the same kit so I will assume at best they came from two different 64 GB kits. Even if they are the same sticks running at the same advertised speed and timings, you have no guearantee that they will work at their advertised speed because different kits have not been tested to work together. Furthermore it's harder for the memory controller to keep 4 sticks stable. So following FakeKGBs advice is the best you can do I think but I would add that if your system restarts out of the blue you can try to loosen timings (turn some of them up) or drop frequency further.

I activated DOCP and adjusted the memory speed to 3000 MHz. It appears to work well now. Thank you for your assistance and advice.

I installed two different 64 GB kits without considering their compatibility. I remember hearing about this 20 years ago and completely overlooked the problem when I first upgraded my first computer by buying all the RAM in one set. It still worked fine, which surprised me, and thank you for your feedback!

The claimed speed exceeds normal limits. They work just fine without adjustments, but you can boost performance by following the guidance provided if you wish to surpass JDEC standards.
