Hi there, I'm looking for some guidance on identifying the root cause of my computer problems. My system includes these components: a motherboard from Asus TUF Gaming, an AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D CPU, a NITRO+ AMD Radeon RTX 6900 XT GPU, 32GB DDR4 RAM (16x16), Corsair Vengeance PRO 3600MHz memory, an M2 WD Black SSD, a WD Black 1TB drive, and six Corsair iCUE SP120 RGB fans. The case is a Lian Li PC-O11 Dynamic Razer edition, and I'm using an EVGA SuperNOVA 850 GT 80 Plus Gold 850W power supply. My operating system is Windows 11.

The problem I'm facing is that during Minecraft gameplay, especially with shaders like Make-up Fast Shaders, my GPU overheats to 115°C and the system crashes. I've tried entering Safe Mode, reinstalling drivers, updating BIOS and Windows, but the issue persists. I've double-checked all connections and cables, though I might have overlooked something. The CPU cooler is Corsair iCUE H150i ELITE, and the fans are spinning. I have a CPUID HWMonitor log available but am unsure if it contains sensitive information. I've shared the log link here: https://pastebin.com/mDVuGXwe.

Could anyone help me figure out what's happening? This issue began after I moved into a new house two months ago, and previously there were no similar problems. I really appreciate any advice or data you can provide to find a solution.

Do you have all fans set to 100%? Are you using cold air or hot air for cooling? Have you checked the card near the heatsink mounting area for any damage?

I generally let AMD's software manage fan speeds in Default mode. I attempted to set up a custom setting, but whenever the machine overheats and shuts down, that custom mode disappears and I have to recreate it manually. I think the room temperature is around 35ºC, though I’m not entirely sure because I don’t have an AC or thermostat right now. Recently it’s been about +40ºC, but I’m guessing that’s the current situation. I did replace the card and reattach it, and there’s a GPU support included.

The room temperature is quite high. You’ll need to work hard all day... Here are some tips I can share (all in a fast-paced way):
- Use fans at 80%-90% when the hotspot hits 80°C
- Consider undervolting; I’m not sure if the 6900XT can handle it, but -0.05V usually works (you can stress test for stability)
- Try to limit power usage as much as possible (~10% reduction)
- Keep GPU clock at around 2GHz, not boosted
- Set a reasonable max FPS based on your monitor
- Use VSync to cap framerate, unless you're in a very competitive FPS situation (for experienced players only)

Sorry for asking this, but could you help me out? Also, I should point this out, someone asked me about this, I never feel throttle on games when it overheats. Is this weird? Should it go straight to Shutdown? These are the options I have available in Adrenalin: (note: i usually leave this on Default, which should use 100% fans, not sure tho)

Adjust the settings in yellow around the quick numbers drawn in blue. The most challenging part is undervolt—better keep it above 1100mV. You can try 1050, but if it drops below, it may become unstable.

Cooling the card using 35°C air is a common issue. It often leads to overheating. Forcing hot air over a computer can cause it to overheat as well.

GPU performance is typically 13°C higher than ambient temperature of 22°C. For normal conditions, keeping the GPU hotspot below 85°C should work well, based on your experience with the 7900XTX.

their room temperature is around 35°C, suggesting a completely unregulated environment where no cooling system should function. It makes sense that a hotter space like 95°F would cause a computer to overheat.
