Hello everyone,
I own an Acer Aspire with an AS07B61 battery. After disassembling it, I discovered it contains six 18650 cells. Their voltage readings were all at 0V. When I replaced them and connected the battery to the PC, it recognized the charge as full. But once I unplugged the power adapter, the computer shut down immediately. The output pins still displayed 0V. I believe the BMS identified the cells as non-original and triggered a lock mode.

I considered resetting the chip values so the new cells would work. The chip model is bq20z955, but I couldn’t access it using the EV2400 and bqStudio tools. It seems the data might be encrypted, requiring a decryption process via a data flash.

Could anyone assist me? I’m hoping for guidance on resetting the values. Thanks in advance!
Cheers,
Denis

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!
I think it might not show up because it's encrypted, and I need a data flash to decrypt the chip, right? If it's locked, you're probably wasting your time trying to crack it. We don't help with decryption according to our guidelines.
The chip model is bq20z955.
BQ20Z955 unseal and error clear failed
Hi everyone, I have a battery here that's in good condition but locked. I tried unlocking it, but everything seems fine in logs, yet in the workshop...

This makes some sense to me, but I doubt you'll be able to open the battery as per my research.
In my opinion, you can buy a replacement battery for as little as $20;
https://www.amazon.com/Battery-AS07B31-A...B071S1CGPD
For all this effort, I'd save time and get the new battery.

Hi, thank you for your response.
I understand you prefer purchasing a replacement without spending money, and I appreciate the mention of self-repair satisfaction.
Regarding your question, do you mean it's completely unlockable, or that even if decrypted, it wouldn't be possible to reset it?
