I had two Seagate Barracuda 1 TB drives installed in my PC using RAID 1 through Windows Disk Management. After replacing them with new drives, I still can’t locate the old ones in This PC. Windows recognizes the USB drive when it’s plugged in and makes a sound, but it doesn’t show up in the file system. Could it be a formatting or file system issue?

Click the start button, navigate to disk management. It displays the information for that drive. Raid0 appears as a basic mirror, indicating both drives are individually accessible.

The G and H drives are my Google Drive backups, T is a partition on my M.2 C drive—don’t check those. D represents the latest RAID configuration. On the Device Manager, the USB drive appears as "ST1000DM 010-2Ep102 SCSI disk device" and it’s functioning correctly.

Your disk management isn't visible.

Windows displays the disk as available in Disk Management, likely indicating an issue with the USB enclosure. Would you like to test a different disk inside the enclosure or use another enclosure?

I connected the additional storage unit into the compartment and saw "disk 4" listed in disk management. When I clicked right on it, the menu appeared. It looks like either converting it to a basic disk or reactivating it might be what you need—whichever option fits best.

It might be wise to look up those options, and I hope it doesn’t cause any data issues!
