On the back of my superhub 4 from Virgin Media, my coax cable appears to be severely twisted. I’m experiencing significant packet loss and frequent Wi-Fi outages or high ping rates. Should I purchase a male-to-male cable like this, or should I contact Virgin to arrange a technician visit? I found a similar cable on eBay that matches what I need.

The cable itself isn't particularly good. A standard pre-made coax should work just fine. You might be able to cut and connect the end yourself, though the necessary equipment could be more expensive than purchasing the cable directly.

I don't think the cable in that list is particularly good. It doesn't seem to match its intended purpose, and it's unclear what it's actually doing.

Do you believe the present cable is faulty? It might lead to disruptions in the connection and internet problems. The main thing to check is whether it has an RG6 connector and ideally avoid Copper Clad Aluminum. I’m not certain about the practices of providers in that region, but some US companies let users view modem diagnostic pages to assess signal quality.

It seems the details are vague. You're looking for quality connectors without crimp terminals, solid copper cores, and you don’t need a quad shield. Typically, I opt for trusted brands or suppliers.
