Problem with 5GHz Wi-Fi signals on Tenda AC9 device
In short, I purchased a used Tenda AC9 router to upgrade my local network and Wi-Fi 5 speeds. I disabled the 2.4GHz Wi-Fi since another router already had WISP mode enabled there. After adjusting channel settings and using an 80MHz band, the speeds remained stable on both my phone and laptop. When switching to 2.4GHz on my laptop, it didn’t work at all, though changing the channel to 36-48 helped somewhat. My phone still connected fine. I explored Device Manager and advanced settings, changed the preferred band to 5GHz, and reconnected the laptop successfully. The issue disappeared once I reset the adapter in Device Manager. It’s frustrating having to restart often for basic tasks.
