I’m new to both computers and gaming, and I recently revived an older machine to play League of Legends with a friend who moved away. I can currently run the game at low or medium settings, achieving approximately 50 frames per second. I experience occasional lag. My question is whether adding more RAM (I’m planning to purchase 4GB) would improve performance. Additionally, should I consider upgrading my graphics card, and if so, what kind of card would be suitable given my budget of around $150? Thank you.

From my perspective, this processor is similar to a Core 2 Quad 9650. Consequently, it wouldn't benefit from graphics cards exceeding the GTX750Ti or GT1030. If you locate one, a 750Ti or a 650Ti Boost would be suitable choices and should cost no more than $50 (used). It’s not worthwhile to consider a 1050 or 950 with this processor.

I strongly advise against spending any money on that setup. Purchasing additional memory and graphics card won't increase your frame rate because of a limitation in the processor. Instead, accumulate funds and begin constructing a fresh system.

If you locate one, a 750Ti or a 650Ti Boost would be suitable pairings and should cost under $50 (used). It’s not worthwhile installing a 1050 or even a 950 with this processor.
