Recently I've experienced some unusual internet problems across all my devices and connections. When downloading from specific websites or apps, speeds tend to hover around 1.4-1.5MBPS or higher, but then they drop suddenly for a few seconds to over ten minutes. Occasionally the speed plummets to just 500KBPS or even lower for a short time, though other services remain fast and responsive. This pattern repeats on Ethernet and Wi-Fi as well. I've restarted the router multiple times without resolving the core issue. It's worth mentioning that when speeds do dip, it's quite disruptive since it seems like very little bandwidth is being used during those brief periods. At this point, my main suspicion is that AT&T might be throttling my connection, especially given how much of my Steam library has been downloaded recently. However, I don't notice any strict usage caps on my bill—my typical consumption stays well below the 1TB limit. My setup includes an AT&T router/modem and a standard DSL line.

It might just be that AT&T is slowing down your internet speed. Or your copper wiring could have developed corrosion.

I believe 1Tb is intended for the universe while there was a lower cap for ADSL. If you reach that data limit, I thought AT&T just increases the cost instead of slowing you down. As @Radium_Angel mentioned, there might be a connection problem, hopefully not for your situation. It could also stem from network congestion itself.
