After reinstalling Windows, performance issues began, especially when GPU tasks were involved. After extensive adjustments and multiple reinstalls, the problem resolved when I set the BIOS to Gen 1. In GPU-Z, using "auto" for Gen 1 showed a stable PCIe x16 1.1 configuration, eliminating stuttering. My GTX 1070 runs on a Z370 PC Pro; with Gen 1, games like Deathloop now load at around 50 FPS instead of struggling with memory bandwidth. Any advice?

Do you have any components? What is the PSU, CPU, RAM, and BIOS version?

Thanks for the reply. No changes made, that’s what’s been happening. It’s been using this PC for more than two years now. The PSU is an 850W TT Madrid 80+gold. The CPU is I7-8700 and the RAM seems to be Super Lume RGB SYNC. I updated the BIOS to the latest beta to check if that fixed anything, but since it didn’t, I went back to version 1.A0 (the most recent stable on their site).

I’d first try to reinstall the drivers.

Sorry for the delayed response. As I mentioned, I believed the issue was related to the new Windows update. I installed Windows 7/10/11, but none of them resolved the problem. Also, DDU didn't help.
