Problem occurs when USB devices lose connection following SSD installation.
I'm struggling with this strange problem. After setting up a new SSD and installing Windows, I noticed issues while gaming: the game would stutter and then all external devices—keyboard, mouse, Bluetooth adapter, and wired internet—would disconnect unexpectedly. This happened even though everything was connected to the motherboard. I've never seen anything like this discussed online, and I really hope someone can help me fix it. My PC details: Asus B550-F gaming motherboard, MSI Gaming X Trio RTX 3070 Ti, Ryzen 7 5800X, 32GB RAM, Windows 11 64-bit, BIOS version 3002. The new SSD is Samsung Evo 980 Pro 500GB, and the old one was Samsung Evo 970 500GB.
The system detected an USB device and is about to shut down. This usually happens after a stress test or when the PC restarts. It means there might be a problem with your USB connection or hardware. Check the USB port, cables, and try connecting a different device. If the issue persists, consult a technician.
If the problem can be triggered consistently, begin at either end. You may lower components step by step—starting from essential parts and removing them one by one—or proceed gradually until nothing remains. Typically, reducing everything slowly is safer; if it still fails after meeting basic requirements, inspect the lowest-level hardware like CPU, RAM, GPU, power supply, and peripherals. If that doesn’t resolve the issue, a fresh Windows install from a new ISO might be necessary. Should even that fail, it could indicate a faulty drive affecting input/output performance. The key is a reliable, repeatable method to provoke failure, allowing precise testing of each variable until you pinpoint the culprit.
It seems you're trying to figure out why the issue occurs occasionally. I didn't intentionally trigger it. After restarting, it failed again. The drive checked by Samsung's Magician shows no problems. You've moved the installation to an older SSD to test its performance—maybe that's the cause?
The SSD is connected to a dedicated PCIe slot on the motherboard. It’s not directly attached to the main CPU socket.
