Problem occurs when trying to boot PC using four RAM modules.
Hi, I purchased all the new PC parts and installed everything properly. I double-checked each component. However, when I power on my system, it doesn’t boot into BIOS and restarts repeatedly. I noticed the BIOS displays a 4C error on the LEDs. I’m looking for solutions but haven’t found any fixes yet. I have four 8GB RAM sticks. If I use two at a time, the system boots and works fine, but switching back to the other two causes the issue again. The components are brand new and have been running for about 15 minutes. My question is: am I doing something wrong? Did I skip any steps? Should I never install all parts together? I just wanted everything to function correctly on the first boot from the BIOS version f8, with the system specs you provided.
Have you considered changing the two sticks you used? You mentioned it booted with two, but what about the remaining ones outside the computer? It’s possible one or both of those are not working. Try swapping them a few times to check if all three work with two sticks. Also confirm that the error code you’re seeing matches what’s listed in the manual—this board doesn’t have that information.
Sure, I can check those frequencies. (or adjust to JEDEC guidelines instead of XMP)
Thanks for your response. I've checked all of them now. Two are functioning while the others won't start my PC. Near the end, before it shut down, it displays "c1." Does this indicate that the two non-working ones are completely failed? I just received them out of the box.
Yes, they are DOs. Just discard them without worrying about the timing or clock. If they don’t start at the stock clock, send them back. Don’t waste effort—running two at once is unusual; do it one at a time instead. It might be just one stick, not two.
Did you manage to fix the problem? It’s strange it’s happening again.
