I've upgraded both my CPU and GPU, but faced problems under heavy usage. The PC would freeze, restart frequently, and some users suggested checking the BIOS or uninstalling/reinstalling drivers via ddu. Others pointed to the PSU as the cause and replaced it with a new one. I tried reinstalling the old GPU with the new CPU, and the issues disappeared. However, when switching back to the old CPU and new GPU, the same problems resurfaced. I consulted friends who used my new GPU in another PC, but there were no crashes or freezes. I thought it might be overheating, so I replaced my PSU with a 240mm AIO model, but the issues persisted. Using the old CPU with the new GPU still shows average GPU usage and low temperatures, though when paired together, temperatures spike rapidly—from around 27% to 98% in seconds—and the PC often freezes or crashes. I’ve searched online for solutions, but none seemed relevant to my setup. Could a CPU really be raising the GPU temperature?

I have refreshed all necessary bios and drivers, but the issue persists under heavy load.

did you test the new cpu with the old gpu in the system to check for temperature increases?

I've attempted it and the temperatures remain fairly typical, similar to how GPU temperatures stay below 60 degrees.

did you set up the cooler on the system for the CPU in the same manner for both, there seems to be an issue since the old CPU and new GPU don’t get hot? use hwifo and monitor temp, power, and fan speeds with both configurations and perform a stress test on the PSU.
