I often face sudden freezes on my PC while playing games like Rainbow Six Siege and Forza Horizon 5. These crashes lock the system completely, forcing a manual restart. Here’s what I’ve observed and done:
- Freezes happen only during gameplay, not when browsing or under stress tests.
- Both keyboard and mouse stop working, including their indicator lights.
- Reinstalled Windows (both Windows 10 and 11) didn’t fix the problem.
- Updated BIOS and drivers, especially graphics cards.
- Performed extended CPU and GPU stress tests (FurMark, OCCT) without freezing.
- Ran disk error checks with Memtest86; no issues found.
- Tested various power supplies and RAM modules; none resolved the issue.
- Monitored temperatures during games; all components stayed normal.
- No overclocking was applied to any part.
- Event Viewer logged an NVIDIA display driver error (nvlddmkm ID 0).
- Encountered Windows kernel errors (livekernelevent 141, 142, 193).
Despite these efforts, the freezing remains only in those titles. Other tough games like Doom Eternal, Jedi Fallen Order, War Thunder, and CSGO run smoothly at full settings. Any advice or information would be really helpful!
