Problem. New PC remains blacked out.
Hello everyone, here’s the situation I’m facing with my build. The part list looks correct. I connected everything, flashed the BIOS, and everything started working properly. I saved Windows 10 onto a USB drive and tried to load it. It initially ran, but when I entered the key, the PC shut down abruptly—just went black while power remained on. I manually turned it off, then returned to the BIOS. I changed the boot sequence so the USB would start first. Progress was made, but then it would randomly power off again. Eventually, whenever I touched the mouse, it would shut down too. So I switched to using only the keyboard in Windows setup. This method worked and I successfully downloaded Windows. However, it still randomly shows a black screen. It sometimes displays messages like “Windows experienced a problem.” I ran a Windows repair tool and entered commands in the command prompt, which removed that warning. I’ve tried many fixes—swapped RAM, unplugged the graphics card, re-flashed BIOS—but nothing resolved the issue. I flashed the BIOS again, but the problem lingered only after exiting the BIOS. My next plan is to purchase a hard drive and download Windows to it, though I’m not sure if that will help. Please let me know if anyone has any advice. Thanks.
Since you don’t have an operating system installed, try downloading an Ubuntu installer and check if the installation proceeds normally. If problems arise, they may be hardware-related. Avoid downloading Windows driver files from manufacturers unless necessary during setup. As a final option, use sysprep to clone or copy an existing Windows installation, replace the old drive with a new one, and observe the behavior. I don’t expect any driver conflicts with your hardware, but thorough testing is essential.
