Problem Linking NAS to PC
I recently set up a new NAS (Ugreen DXP 4800 Plus) and initially connected without problems. Now I'm unable to access it, even though it's fully connected through a switch, and the app indicates it's online and functioning. The only change I made was switching it from the 2.5Gbps port to the 10Gbps port on the NAS itself. After that, when I try to browse for a server location, the site appears but then fails to connect after a brief loading period.
Transitioning to 10GE indicates a change in the MAC address, which consequently affects the IP address. Have you verified the current IP details?
Where is the router located? What is its make and model?
What are the necessary conditions for a switch—typically a switch is employed when the router (or modem/router if combined lacks sufficient network ports for all your wired devices)?
Connectivity should be as follows: where -----> denotes an Ethernet cable.
ISP === (Coax, DSL, Fiber) ===> Modem —--- > [WAN port] Router [LAN port] —----> [LAN port] Switch [LAN port] ——-> NAS
Otherwise, LAN ports on the router and switch connect to different wired devices.
The NAS must receive a static IP address that remains constant; otherwise it might be lost until other devices recognize its IP.
Feel free to adjust and refine your diagram to reflect your network layout, or design your own sketch to photograph or scan. Then share it here via imgur (www.imgur.com > green "New post" icon).
Include details about the device make and model, and list any wireless devices as well.
You have the IP in the app, but still need guidance on resolving the problem.
Accessible via entering \\<IP ADDRESS> in the address bar within explorer. Without the "<>"...
