Problem: Is it all the way to your hard drive that you're seeing, or something in File Explorer itself?
Hi there. I recently been having trouble where opening a file or picture in my desktop folder makes nothing happen. The window freezes and then I have to close it quickly to restart the computer. After restarting, the problems stop happening but they come back again later on. Another thing is when I open a folder with dozens of files, the address bar at the top turns green and keeps loading slowly. If I try to click a file before that bar finishes, my program gets stuck or freezes. I have to close it from the taskbar then restart everything. It feels like if I'm trying to read data from a slow USB drive but I'm not actually using one. My main hard drive is a Kioxia Exceria 1TB SSD which is about a year old and used for reading and writing, nothing heavy on it. The computer has Windows 11 Pro. Why am I having these problems? Maybe the Explorer app or the desktop itself is causing this. Thanks,
What's the brand and model number for this hard drive? You should check if it's healthy using a special tool made by the SSD company that makes yours.
Hey thanks for sharing the link. I got it, ran it, and it says my SSD is fine. It shows 100% green health. The temperatures are okay too. Nothing wrong at all. So could this company trick their app to hide problems in the SSD just because of money? If they do that, is there a separate app or tool I can use instead? Otherwise we know for sure it's not Windows and if so how do I fix those Windows issues?
