Recently purchased a 4090 and a Corsair 1000w RM1000x. When I press the power button to turn the computer on it will light up for about a second then turn off/not start. With the press of the power button my CyberPower CP1500PFCLCD will turn on. I will then press the power button on the PC again and everything starts normally. Only started with the new PSU and 4090. I'm not sure it's a short because the computer works absolutely fine after the CyberPower CP1500PFCLCD battery is running. Just wanted to know if anyone had an idea if which it could be.

I'm confused, is the CyberPower turned on when you do that initial power up of the PC? If its not on, it wont provide any power at all, so it may just be what's left in the PSUs capacitors. If it was overloading it should be beeping at you like crazy and if I recall correctly needs a long power button press to turn off, then another to turn it back on. Of course it shouldn't be overloading from this, I have a 4090 with the same PSU and my TV hooked into a CyberPower CP1500PFCLCD and its never come close to maxing it out.

The UPS is working properly. I pressed the power button on my PC, the battery activated, and it shut down. After restarting, it turned back on smoothly without any issues. I purchased the UPS in 2019 and wondered if it’s time for a replacement. I’m trying to confirm whether the PC is at fault. I recall using an 850W PSU before it worked fine, so I’m checking if the UPS was installed earlier.

I'm curious about the battery performance. I recall a lower model on my NAS that would warn about low charge when loading beyond a threshold, but it reported everything was normal otherwise. Under typical use, the UPS screen shouldn't show changes except load readings and minor AC voltage shifts.

Enable or disable the system without using a UPS to eliminate any issues with the UPS.

Computer worked well on the non-UPS side. It ran twice without any issues. After plugging it back into the UPS side, everything functioned normally again—no clicking from the battery. It might be a battery problem with the UPS when it's not in use all night.

They mentioned the UPS doesn’t support a 1000W power supply and suggested getting one with a higher capacity. It seems the device might be aging, and the newer model we both own is rated for 1000W, so I went ahead and bought it. I purchased mine in 2019 with a 900W rating. It’s possible the battery is failing rather than the power limit.

You seem to have a defect, the PC isn't going to pull over 900W just starting up. I have a 4090/7800x3D system and a 1200W PSU on mine and its perfectly fine. In games system load is in the 450-750W range depending on how much the 4090 is pushed. The diagnostics in the software is pretty good so that's why I asked.

I have the identical build without the 1200w reduction. Just ordering a new one.
