In the middle of use my system halted displaying video while fans reached maximum speed. It was still powered on and audio functioned properly. Restarting didn’t fix it and the VGA warning stayed active. After removing the GPU, connecting the monitor worked correctly (thank you igpu). I reset the CMOS and reattached any necessary cables. Any further steps or signs of a dead GPU are unclear. Should I consider replacing it for around $1000? Please advise.

Optimal approach is to run your GPU on a different machine. Is your GPU still covered by warranty? Usually they last 3 to 5 years based on the model.

It seems I can't run tests on another machine. However, I appreciate you bringing up the warranty—though I thought it was out of coverage, it still applies. I'm exploring that path but remain flexible and open to advice to skip the lengthy RMA process.

You can try another GPU on your system whenever it suits you better. Good luck with the return if you choose that option. Occasionally you have to follow the steps you need to take.
