I've tried various tools like Fraps, FPS Monitor, and MSI Afterburner for adding an FPS overlay, but none worked. I followed YouTube tutorials, but it still didn't function. My laptop is an Acer model running a pre-installed OS with some manufacturer software. I considered reinstalling the product key, but I'm unsure if that would help. Are there other options?

Occasionally, certain titles aren't compatible with specific programs. I mainly play a few games, but I've noticed Destiny 2 only works with the original version.

I was attempting to make it function within CSGO on Steam.

Access the built-in FPS display by opening the overlay (use shift+tab as usual) and navigating to settings. Then select "In-game FPS Counter."

Some users noticed different games and the FPS counters function well. Regarding Steam, it includes an FPS counter, though its range is restricted—you’ll need to unlock it if you want more details.

I’d rather see a few seconds of updates rather than real-time like FRAPS, since by the end you can just glance at the FPS counter instead of constantly checking what the current FPS is.

I understand your request. Just checking how many frames per second my GTX 1650 can handle in CS:GO. It works well across other titles too. Appreciate the support!
