Hey, I pulled a motherboard, cpu, and ram from storage for an old build I had years ago. I tried to get it running but am unable to do so. I got a new psu just to test if it works, but still nothing. So, the green power led on the motherboard is on, which means power is flowing. There is no case so I am shortening the power pins and when I do, it boots for 1 second, the dram led blinks red twice, and the cpu led blinks red twice, then it shuts off. I cannot jump it again no matter what unless I completely shut off the power supply switch, wait a second for the green motherboard light to turn off, then turn it in again and short it again. I have completely disconnected everything besides ram, cpu power, and motherboard power, and still nothing. I tried with a graphics card and during this process, the fans turn on for a second then shut off with everything. I have tried putting ram one in a time, tried different slots, tried booting each time with 1 different stick, nothing, still that boot issue. I think the cooler is on and connected properly. CMOS is clear. If it works, consider replacing the old battery. There might be an issue with the board's mounting or a small short circuit. Inspect all cables—make sure the EPS connector is plugged in. Posting without memory should trigger a RAM error instead.
