Problem encountered! No screen appears after upgrading the GPU.
I just switched from a GTX 1060 to an Asus RTX 2060 with 12 GB RAM. Right after the upgrade, I played a short game and everything worked fine since I turned on Vsync to limit the frame rate to 60 fps. When I turned it off to test further, the game crashed after about five minutes, shut down, and the system froze. I tried to restart but got no display output, fans spinning, and eventually reset the BIOS by jumper, removed the battery for a few minutes, and took out one RAM slot (two 2 GB sticks). After that, it booted up successfully. Later issues included a blue screen on first login, a second boot worked, adding another RAM stick resolved it, and I managed to play smoothly even under heavy GPU load (near 100% usage, high temperature). I’m concerned about recurring crashes. What caused this? Do you have any advice to prevent it?
Just set RAM to 2666 MHz? I didn’t notice that problem either. Yes, I adjusted some BIOS settings during the build—like enabling C state—but everything turned out fine. Actually, I left the CPU in idle mode.
The foundation of fixing issues starts by resetting everything, then moving step by step, ensuring each change remains consistent and effective.
