Hey everyone! I’m experiencing some unusual behavior with my system after the BIOS update. Here’s a summary of my setup: I’m using a Gigabyte Aorus X570 Xtreme motherboard. It was purchased soon after its release, and I only changed the BIOS once before switching to Windows 11. After updating to version F35d, I followed the recommended steps—unplugged the PC, reset it thoroughly, and cleared the CMOS. Now everything seems to run smoothly with default settings.
However, a few strange things started happening. Whenever I restart Windows, it does so normally. But if I press Shutdown, it powers off completely, then restarts after a brief pause before turning back on. Additionally, my fans and LED lights shut down entirely, only to come back on briefly before resuming normal operation.
This wasn’t an issue with my BIOS prior to this update, but now it’s causing disruptions. Have anyone else encountered similar problems after updating to the latest BIOS? Any suggestions or insights would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you sir, very much! I'll tip my didital cap to you, as it appears you are correct. I went in and disabled the XMP profile, and it now reboots and turns on normally without the odd power cut off issues. I don't NEED the ram to be faster. It would have just been nice to have it working properly. I have just never been able to run XMP properly on this board with the current ram I have, and thought maybe this latest BIOS update would allow me to do so. I would get BSOD crashes prior to this BIOS version when running XMP. Before I realized the weird boot/restart issue, I ran a few extended tests on my system to make sure the XMP was stable. Prime95, mnem86, ect. No issues with BOSOD so I thought I was in the clear. Not so much now. I guess it's back to stock timings until I try a different ram kit or another update comes out. I never had DOCP (XMP) working on an X570 board, I always had to tweak the settings manually. I’ve tried four RAM kits and two different boards, but B550 seems to handle faster RAM better. I’ve never faced any issues there. I also only tested one budget ASRock board using the same three kits.
Yea, I've been a little disappointed that such a high end board like the x570 xtreme has had the bios bugs is had over the years. I've ran into several odd behaviors over the last couple bios versions, but everything other then the xmp ordeal is running great now. Thanks again for the reply on this!
