Did you locate the IP address on your router? Assign a fixed IP so you can reach it from there. Updated July 9, 2024 by sovepose

The issue isn't present on your router despite being connected. A cable tester confirmed the cable works.

I don't agree with that. I was working with balenaEtcher for the older Buster Lite version, and after switching to newer Rasp-Pi OSes, I began using their imager. It offers an option to turn on SSH and assign a hostname. Even when both were configured by the imager, my router couldn't locate the Rasp-Pi device. I believe this might be the issue. When everything is connected, the Ethernet/USB hub lights up green near the Ethernet port and red near the USB ports. I haven’t found any documentation for the hub I’m using.

You might want to test it separately—no hub required? Also, are those connections secured?

I can't test without the hub because the rasp-pi I bought lacks an integrated Ethernet connection. I believe the ports aren’t restricted, and access control allows wired connections. I’d need to verify that. Unfortunately, I can’t check directly. I don’t have a method to link the adapter to my computer. The device connects via micro-USB, which isn’t supported on my machine, and there are no compatible adapters available. Perhaps I could look for a rasp-pi with built-in Ethernet.

They said the product is no longer available, but I’ll look for alternatives. A colleague who’s an experienced network technician suggested there could be a problem with the PiZero not detecting the Ethernet hub, which isn’t uncommon. I’m unsure how to resolve that issue. I plan to check a Pi with a built-in Ethernet port and see if it works better.
